We are often asked where our company name, BubbieCare, came from and what it means.
My mother-in-law, Miriam — known as Bubbie by her grandchildren — moved to Caldwell, Texas as a young bride and owned and operated Manuel's Department Store for more than 70 years. When she was 91, she informed her children that she was bored, was not having fun anymore, and wanted to close and sell the store. She sold it and moved into an Independent Living apartment until she was 94.
When illness set in and forced her to move to a skilled nursing facility, that did not stop her in any way. Up until a short time before she passed away in 2019, she was still going to the gym and working out every day.
So we named BubbieCare after her — a small way of honoring a remarkable life. She is an amazing woman who inspires me to do better every day.
