I was inspired to build this company by one remarkable woman. Miriam, known as Bubbie to her grandchildren, was my mother-in-law.
Having just married, she and her husband moved to Caldwell, Texas, where they owned and operated Manuel's Department Store for more than 70 years. At 91, she told her children she wasn't having fun anymore. She was bored and wanted to close the store. Upon selling the business, she moved closer to her family and into an independent living apartment for 3 years.
It was then that illness set in, forcing a move to a skilled nursing facility. Despite this, Bubbie didn't slow down a bit, still going to the gym every day for her usual workout until she passed away in 2019.
This company exists as our small way of honoring a remarkable life. Her memory inspires me to do better every day.
